That opportunity came during an internship with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, where she witnessed a powerful trial involving the racially motivated murder of a woman. Watching some of the best trial lawyers in action during that case inspired her to pursue a legal career and advocate for those in need of a voice.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Georgia State University and her law degree from Mercer University School of Law. Her legal career began as a prosecutor and later transitioned to criminal defense, where she represented clients facing the most serious charges, including those on death row. She successfully argued her first case at the Georgia Supreme Court, securing a reversal of a life sentence for a client.
